What Licence and schemes are available?

Having a large portfolio of products we want to make the choice manageable so we have 3 easy Licence programs available to Teachers and ICT Managers. These are:

  • Corel Licence for Learning (CLL) : a multi product annual site Licence
  • Corel Transactional Licence (CTL) : a multi product volume Licence
  • Classroom Licence : a low cost solution for the Classroom

NEW: This year we are also offer something UNIQUE to the market place – Student Usage Rights. If a University or Higher or Further Education College has purchased a CTL or CLL, they can choose to extend these Licences and opt for Students Usage Rights allowing them to distribute one copy of each product to students for their own personal use, at no extra cost.

What are the key Features and Benefits to each Licence and scheme?

The Corel Licence for Learning (CLL)

  • What is it:

The CLL is an annual site subscription licence
  • Products available with the CLL (core):

The CLL provides the right to install THREE of our most popular creative products across the whole site; CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Painter, and Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo
  • Products available with the CLL (add on):

Establishments have the option to ‘add-on’ up to FIVE further education products, these are; Corel Designer Corel Video Studio Corel WordPerfect, Corel WinZip Pro and Corel WinDVD.
  • Products NOT available with the CLL:

    Corel Photo Impact
  • Why buy the CLL?

An efficient renewable annual subscription for the entire site, offering substantial savings over purchasing individual boxes and volume Licences. The CLL automatically covers establishments for free upgrades ensuring they will always have access to the latest versions of our software, at no extra cost - this is particularly important for arts, design and technology based courses where industry employers are looking for the most up-to-date skills. With the option to ‘add on’ up to five education products from our range, this Licence scheme offers versatility and flexibility at a great price.
  • Eligibility and Pricing:

Available to Primary, Secondary and Higher Education - both Further and Higher Education (HE and FE) Colleges and Universities. The CLL is priced at five levels; Primary School Level, Secondary School Level, and three levels for FE and HE Colleges and Universities which are based on the total number of full-time students and staff attending the Establishment; Level 1 (from 1 to 1,000 seats), Level 2 (1001 to 5,000 seats) and Level 3 (5001+ seats). There is a minimum purchase commitment of one (1) year and the CLL may be renewed annually. The maximum number of years purchased at one time is limited to three (3). Add on products are available to purchase at a minimum order of 20 seats (for 20 computers).

The Corel Transactional Licence (CTL)

  • What is it:

a product specific volume Licence plan.
  • Products available with the CTL:

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo, Corel Painter, Corel Video Studio, Corel Designer Technical Suite, Corel Photo Impact and Corel WordPerfect.
  • Products NOT available with the CTL :

    Corel Win Zip Pro
  • Why buy the CTL?:

If a School, College or University doesn’t want a site Licence, but specifically wants to order by product for a certain volume of users, then the CTL is the perfect choice. The CTL is a perpetual Licence programme, this gives the right for an Establishment to use the number of copies of the version purchased for an unlimited period. As a solution this is far more cost effective than purchasing individual box products and many of our products can be deployed over the network so it couldn’t be easier to manage. Corel offers volume-based price bands so the more copies the customer orders, the lower the cost per computer. In addition, for access to future version releases – ensuring that students are developing skills on current software – there is the option to purchase a Upgrade Protection Licence.
  • Eligibility and Pricing:

Available to Primary, Secondary and FE/HE Colleges and Universities. There are three pricing Levels available depending on the volume that is required; Level A (1-60 seats) Level B (61-300 seats) and Level C (301+ seats). There is no minimum order volume for the CTL.

Corel Classroom Licence

  • What is it:

A low cost Licence to install in a Classroom
  • Products available with the Classroom Licence:

CorelDRAW, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo, Corel Painter and Corel Video Studio. The Classroom Licence is only available on these FOUR products.
  • Products NOT available with the Classroom Licence:

Corel Designer Technical Suite, Corel Photo Impact and Corel WordPerfect, Corel WinDVD, Corel Win Zip Pro
  • Why buy a classroom Licence;

Perfect as a low cost option for Primary schools who do not require an annual site Licence, a classroom Licence is designed to support a specific teaching plan. It can cover one or more classrooms / ICT labs and is priced to suit a small budget.
  • Eligibility and Pricing:

The Classroom Licence is ONLY available to Primary schools. Classroom Licences are available to purchase by Licence Pack. A Licence Pack allows a school to install a single product on to a total of 16 computers (e.g. 15 computers plus 1 extra for the teacher). A Primary School can purchase up to a maximum of four Licence Packs per product per school (i.e. a maximum of 64 computer installations per product per school).

Student Usage Rights (SUR)

  • What is it:

A NEW and UNIQUE scheme for HE/FE Colleges and Universities who have purchased a CTL or CLL, these Establishments can now purchase the right to distribute one copy of the software to each participating full-time student for installation on the student’s laptop or desktop, at no extra cost.
  • Products available with SUR (CLL):

Establishments with a CLL, can purchase Students Usage Rights on all of the THREE core graphics products; CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Painter and Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo. In additional they can purchase SUR for the following add-on products; Corel Video Studio, Corel Designer, Corel WinDVD and Corel WinZip Pro.
  • Products available with SUR (CTL):

Customers with a CTL can purchase Students Usage Rights on; CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo, Corel Painter, Corel Video Studio, Corel Designer Technical Suite, Corel Photo Impact and Corel WordPerfect.
  • Products NOT available for SUR:

Corel Win DVD. This product is NOT available for SUR under a CTL or CLL contract.
  • Why buy SUR:

The SUR scheme offers huge savings to students who are normally obliged to purchase their own copies of software for a syllabus, which can often run into hundreds of pounds. The SUR scheme facilitates a high degree of flexible working and learning. Students can develop their skills and complete coursework off-campus and out-of-hours. Corel’s unique Student Usage Rights programme means Colleges and Universities can now offer the very best in software technology and support to their students.
  • Eligibility and Pricing (CLL):

Establishments under a CLL contract must purchase SUR for the three core products to be eligible to purchase SUR for any ‘add on’ products. Under the SUR scheme, customers must also ensure that the SUR Licence Level is equivalent to the CLL Licence Level; Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3. The number of SUR Licences required for ‘add on’ products under a CLL contract, must equal or exceed the number of original Licences purchased per product.
  • Eligibility and Pricing (CTL):

Establishments under a CTL contract must are eligible for SUR if they have purchased a minimum 20 CTL Licence seats per product. SUR are only available to Licence up to a maximum of three times (3x) the number of CTL Licence seats ordered for that product. For example if a university department orders 100 CTL Licence seats of Corel Paint Shop Pro and wants to purchase student usage rights, then the minimum no. of copies of software it could distribute to students would be 100 copies and the maximum 300 copies of that same product.
  • Note:

this scheme is NOT available to Primary or Secondary schools. The Establishment may distribute software to students by CD, DVD or ESD (electronic distribution) and may charge the student up to and no more than €10 per product (€10 per product per year for CLL) to cover any distribution costs.
