Microsoft Select licence Overview
If your organisation has 250 or more desktop PCs, or if your organisation has fewer than 250 PCs but is owned by a larger organisation (either in Ireland or by a multi-national group), then you may find it makes good business sense to enrol in a Microsoft Select Agreement.
Why buy under Microsoft Select?
- Microsoft Select has a forecast-based structure which sets the price level on a company-wide basis, leaving each local office the independence to order software as and when it is needed while benefitting from the discount available to the parent company.
- If you decide to add Microsoft Software Assurance (SA) you can, instead of paying up front in a lump sum as you would for a license only purchase, amortise the License & Software Assurance cost in three instalments.
- Software Assurance allows you to stay up to date with your software, while ensuring that employees respond positively to platform changes and new product versions, with self-service training options and home use rights.
- The purchasing model is flexible, allowing you to report software usage on a monthly basis.
- Microsoft Select gives you secure access to the Volume License Services web site, where you can:
- Review your license assets in one consolidated view across all Microsoft Volume License Programs (called the MLS, or Microsoft License Statement)
- Download all software media included on Microsoft’s Product List for evaluation in a non-production environment for up to 60 days
- Download software media for immediate use in a production environment (where such usage is reported to the Large Account Reseller)
- Obtain Volume License Keys
- Administer Software Assurance Benefits
- Administer MSDN Benefits
- Administer Online Services
- All of the above services are also provided to our customers by Micromail’s able & attentive staff.
