Willy Kelly co-founded Micromail in February 1987 with his sister, Alice Kelly. With the addition of Anne Kelly in 1991, a family partnership became a Limited Company. Micromail was set up as a mail-order business to serve the IT sector’s need for self-training books and packaged software. In the 1990s, as online resources challenged the book market, & software evolved from shrink wrap to volume licensing, Micromail became a software licensing house & quickly established a reputation for customer service, licensing expertise & business integrity.
Over the years, Willy has built Micromail’s team of licensing and software asset management specialists into a market-leading brand, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies. Micromail has won many awards, including the Microsoft Licensing Solution Partner of the Year Awards in 2016 and 2017. Since its acquisition by Ergo in 2016, Willy has continued to lead Micromail as an independent company which contributes to the success of the Ergo Group in the provision of end-to-end IT services.
Willy has an MA in Classics and a PhD in English Literature from the National University of Ireland. Formerly a teacher at second & third level, he founded Micromail while lecturing in English at Mater Dei Institute of Education.
